“Where we dissect sight and sound.”
Film Studies Quarterly Review began as TalkFilms, an ambitious attempt to scramble an in-depth film analysis every Tuesday. Back then, we wanted to render detailed examinations on a film, akin to a 401 college course. This is still our hope with Film Studies Quarterly. We will go into the dirt with every film, analyzing sound and soundtrack, cinematography, editing, production history, and everything in-between. We will take the film apart like a watchmaker does a watch, and at the end, we will be able to put the watch together by ourselves. We currently study pre-80s cinema.
Film Studies Quarterly Review is written by writer and visual artist Bolivar T. Caceres. To learn more about him check out his portfolio.
