Have you ever had the passion for breaking out of your routine to be your best self? It is a natural emotion to want to shed the old for the new and be better than you were yesterday. In narratives, characters also evolve, often learning some life lesson that catalyzes their growth to their new selves. Desires and ambitions frequently are the light at the end of a character’s tunnel that they strive to reach. 


    Many films like Paul Mazurksky’s 1976 film “Next Stop, Greenwich Village” use character tropes to study how life events, burning desires, and other caustics can define or redefine a character’s journey and perspective; thus, dissecting the character tropes which categorized them.
